Vodafone Ultra Hub Not Recognising Mitsubishi Heat Pump Wi-Fi Adaptor

Hi Folks. Hopefully this is the right place for this. We have a Mitsubishi heat pump with a Wi-Fi Control Adaptor that will not connect to our Fibre X Vodafone Ultra Hub (H-500t). It uses WPS to connect. The adaptor will only connect onto a 2.4ghz network which is active on the Ultra Hub. I have even turned off the 5 ghz network So the Hub was only using the 2.4ghz but no joy. Finally I tried using a 2.4 ghz wifi extender and connecting the Heatpump tto that but again no joy. Just wondering if anyone has had any success in getting these to talk to each other or alternatively is there another option than the Ultra Hub that I could use with Fibre X that would be friendly towards the Mitsubishi Wi-Fi adptor and not too difficult to change too. Thanks

I cant register for My Vodafone.

Long story short, I've finally accepted that Microsoft has dumped the windows phone, and have upgraded to Vodafone's Smart V8 phone from the Cuba Mall Vodafone store.

The phone works fine with my Vodafone 021 number.

The store transferred my Vodafone SIM from my Microsoft 640XL to a new micro SIM for the Smart V8 phone without any problems.

Today I tried to register for My Vodafone on the Internet and on the phone.

When I try to register for My Vodafone using the app, it asks for my mobile phone number, then says that the 021 phone number I have provided is not registered on the Vodafone network.

On the Internet I got as far as receiving the confirmation code via TEXT to the phone to confirm my registration, but got an error when entering it on the registration page, and said I needed to call either 777 or the 0800 number.

I ended up speaking to three different people (the first two couldn't help) and all three people told me their screens were showing my 021 number was inactive, even though they could see all my account details including my mobile phone information.

The third person I spoke to eventually told me that I can only register and use My Vodafone on the Internet and on my phone if I have a mobile phone account with Vodafone.

I have had this Vodafone 021 number since 2009, and it worked fine on all the previous phones I have had. I also receive monthly billing for it with my Vodafone bill. The 'about phone' screen on the phone shows I'm connected to Vodafone, but the phone says my number is unknown. Are all these problems caused because I'm an ex Telstra Clear customer?

Additional question: Any suggestions on what I can do with the Microsoft 640LT phone and Microsoft 640XL phone, as Auckland Starship Hospital no longer collects them to recycle or resell as a funds raising cause?

The 640LT is locked (to Vodafone), but the 640XL is not locked.

Seeing if anyone has any suggestions...

I've lived at my current home address for coming up to 2 years, never had any Vodafone services whatsoever. A few months ago I randomly had a Vodafone invoice turn up in the post, my address but someone elses name. The invoice didn't show any active services or products, but did show itself in credit for $130ish. There was also a $5 charge (taken away from the credit) for Account Administration Fee.

I called Vodafone to advise them that the person named on the invoice does not live here, and could not have for at least 18 months. As such the account needs to be closed or at least somehow transferred to the named person at their current address. Of course there was also the possibility that someone had recently taken out services fraudulently at my home address for some reason (unlikely as it's in credit but who knows). I was told repeatedly they couldn't help as I was not the person named on the invoice - they couldn't grasp that was the reason I was calling. After a good 40 minutes it was agreed the account would be closed.

One month later and I received another invoice, same name, still in credit, but with another $5 admin charge. I again phoned Vodafone and again after some battling of 'privacy' and whatnot I was told in no uncertain terms that the account had now been closed and I would not receive any more invoices. This phone call was almost an hour.

Catch up to yesterday and what I do I find in my mailbox... Another invoice, same name, still in credit but now down to $121.14 due to another $5 admin charge. Anyone know where I can go from here? I know it's currently in credit so not end of the world but it will get to the stage where the credit no longer covers the monthly admin charge and regardless its not great that someone else has an account open at my address. Again, I think the chances of this being purposely fraud is unlikely but the risk is there and Vodafone really don't seem to be bothered. Surely they must have a mechanism in place to deal with these kind of issues? I feel my long phone calls aren't making any difference so really looking for any other avenues I can take. Seems silly to have to raise something like this to TDRS to get any traction.

Thanks in advance.

Just received:

Vodafone ADSL line speed reduced when routed thru Chorus

I have Vodafone ADSL. The line speed was 10Mbps as shown on the modem. Last week they routed my line through Chorus, without prior notice. My broadband was out of action for 4 days during the switch. To give Vodafone credit, they did provide me with a free Pocket Wifi for 2 of those 4 days.

The main issue now is that the line speed is reduced to 7.5Mbps.

Watching video is still OK, but my kids complain that they can't properly play Minecraft on the PC.

I called tech support, they say my line is normal. Any idea what should do next?

Vodafone fails to honour agreement now impossible to reach

We were puzzled when our Vodafone direct debit suddenly leapt by $10 so called them to be told our contract had expired. What a shame they couldn't have sent us a reminder. My wife spoke with someone called Matt who said because we had been with Vodafone so long (actually ever since Telstra Clear) they would give us an extra $10 discount if we signed up for new fixed-term period. Vodafone would also give us a new modem. Great, we thought, and agreed. The next month, guess what, same charge out of our account, no discount, heard nothing about the modem. My wife tried calling the cell phone number Matt had given us. It was no longer active. My wife called Vodafone and got through to the Philippines and was told she had to use the Vodafone Ninja service, but she couldn't make it work on her iPad, stuck to her guns and said she wanted to speak with a real person. After more inquiries and a lengthy delay, she was told there was no record of the previous phone call and the agreement having been passed on. She insisted to speak with someone and was promised we would receive a call from Matt at Vodafone within three working days. Guess what, nothing! What appalling customer service. We are thinking we should just go with another provider -- Spark happened to visit -- except this really was good deal. What should we do? Is there any other way of actually reaching Vodafone?

Thanks,

David

Vodafone TV app and Multiroom

I am investigating changing to Vodafone TV which includes their Fibre install etc. Currently on VDSL with VNGS (ex WXC). I also have MySky HD as well. I was considering the Vodafone Premium package as it has everything, and even with everything we will still end up saving approx $40 a month. (sky $123.00 and Wxc $111.00)

My thoughts to date are: how does the multi-room option work with the Vodafone TV? I understand TV can be used on the TV plus 1 other device at a time. I don't wont to watch TV on a device, I want to watch TV on the other 5 TV in the house. (3 TVs are smart TVs)

Also, as Vodafone TV includes Sky, are you still able to use the SKYGO app or website to watch sky content on a laptop (windows10)

I tried online chat with Vodafone who couldn't answer my exact questions and just wanted a rep to ring me. I've spoken with non tech pers re their installs and use, and get conflicting answers.

Any thoughts and feedback welcomed.

Thanks. Richard

Vodafone Fibre Max Speed Issue

Hi

I just recently upgraded from 100/20 to Fibre max connection and today received a text from Vodafone that my Fibremax is active and plugged the new ultrahub they had send me. When i did speed test i still only get max 101 download and 20upload speeds on all my devices via speedtest.net. So i called Vodafone tech ninja and he logs into my computer and after seeing the result of my speedtest.net says the issue is my computer's processor as it is on chrome maxing out at 100% and hence my speedtest.net results in 100/20 speeds. I told him that i get the same speeds on my iphone X and Ipad via speedtest.net application and he dismissed stating they dont gurantee any speeds on wifi connections and that only computer speed test matters. I am connected directly to the ultra hub via ethernet with 1gb connection.

So i ran a speedtest from Internet Explorer and i still get the same 100/20 speed and the CPU (which is 5 years old i3 dual core with 8gb ram) sits around 70%. I was on the phone call with the tech ninja for an hour and had to wait for an hour to get to a tech ninja. So finally he said to me get a computer that can handle fibre max speeds and then we will see.

Has anyone come across an issue like that? The ninja wasn't helpful at all and i m thinking surely if i have a 1gb network connection directly to the hub and i am doing speedtest with a vodafone server, i should get much better than 101 download and 20 mbps upload speeds? I am basically getting the exact same speed i was getting on my old 100/20 fibre connection.

Is anyone from Vodafone technical support here on geekzone that can help me? Any help would be appreciated?

Thanks Harry

How to stop automated callers from China leaving voicemails?

I have been getting several automated calls from china during the night, where they leave a message. So I have to pay to check my messages only to find a chinese automated message. Is there a way to block those types of calls? I imagine vodafone are making a bit of money off them as people check their messages. I really wish NZ telcos had a form of capcha system to show that a real person is calling, so these automated dialers from overseas couldn't call.

Vodafone Roaming comparison Prepay vs Postpaid

$

Hi, It seems to me Vodafone prepaid its a good deal and Postpaid needs to catch up.

Prepay has 89 countries/territories. $19 for one week 1GB

Postpaid has 81 countries/territories. $5 a day (which is a great price to pay!!)

The countries I see that should be on the Postpaid list that is on the prepaid are following Denmark, Iceland, Israel and Liechtenstein.

Does anyone have the reason why they have been left out?

If anyone from Vodafone is reading this.. the list on our website is not entirely in alphabetical order it would be great to have the United Arab Emirates added to your $5 a day roaming. With so many people now flying through on Emirates.

If only Vodafone had agreements that covered the Cook Islands, Tahiti, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam they would then cover every direct flight from NZ and would be a very compelling marketing angle to have.

RBI Vodafone B315 - DOes it have SNMP?

Howdy,

Have a customer chewing through too much data across 3 homes sharing an RBI 4G connection.

Does the standard (B315?) router have SNMP? Is it enabled by default (long drive for me to find out).

If no SNMP then I'll look at NTOPNG on an old Ubuntu laptop......

Credit on old account disappearing

Has anyone noticed that Vodafone are billing an account fee on old accounts if they have credit in them?

i moved away from Vodafone a couple of years ago and had a small credit which stayed on the account and i kept getting emailed a bill and the credit remained intact.

However i noticed a couple of months ago that the credit seemed to be eroding to the point where it is about to go into deficit.

Seeing that Spark have been have started returning old credit to people can anyone explain why Vodafone have decided to be come creative

and keep these old credits for themselves?

Fibre reliability

Vodafone switched me to fibre. Ultrafast quite a runaround to get consent as shared drive. My neighbour and I both signed up at same time when Vodafone visited us to upgrade us. Filled in consent with both our names but wasnt good enough. Both had to fill same form with both consents. Finally done for us but not neighbour so will be dug up again.

Monday all up and running and worked well. 3 days it lasted and now have to wait until late Monday before someone can fix it. According to Ultrafast it has broken cable between us and the cabinet and they hope it is at either end. So much for reliable. Years on adsl and then year on vdsl and rock solid reliable. 3 days fibre and breaks down.

Vodafone are marvelous. They have given me extra data on my phone so I can still use internet so have no complaints there as they really were very good. Just thought fibre would be reliable like copper was.

Our internet speed is really bad at the moment, at least for the last 2 days, atm its 13.5Mbs DL.

Netflix seems unaffected, but we notice it on page loads, which seems odd. We have a Fibre X account with 200Mbs .

Where do we ask for help?
