How do I contact Vodafone Support if my phone stops working?

$

The only way I see on the Vodafone website to get tech support is to call a phone number. My problem is my wife and I both have iphones that have stopped being able to receive and make phone calls since yesterday.Data services over the cellular network still work fine though. But there doesn't seem a way to contact Vodafone help online through text, chat or even email.(I cant physically go to a store presently). Any suggestions?

Why we are leaving Vodafone after 10+ years (home broadband)

I'll try to keep this brief as possible as I really am over dealing with this situation and as the contracts just about up we've decided to give up and move to another provider -

- More than 6 Months ago, the home broadband account holder passed away.

- Wife of the deceased asked me to switch the account over to her instead, as I was also authorized on the account because I set it up for them.

- I call support, they take all the details and say they will change the account name over for me.

- Next months bill arrives, still in the old name.

- I call support, they say they are not sure why it didn't go through, will definitely do it this time.

- Next months bill arrives, still in the old name.

- I call support, they say they will put another request through, I ask to be called back when its done as this is the 3rd time I've called to do this.

- No call back

- Next months bill arrives, still in the old name.

- I call support, tell them I've been trying to change the name on the account for 4 months, the wife of the deceased is getting very annoyed she is still getting bills sent to his name. I ask to be put on hold until they can find out whats going on, which they do, turns out they can't actually change the account name over the phone, I will need to fill out some forms to change the account over, and they will probably have to mail them out to me, took my mobile number and said someone from the appropriate department would definitely call me back regarding all this.

- No call back

- A few weeks later a letter arrives saying 'we tried to reach you on your mobile #021 --- but were unable to' (This is a blatant lie, no missed calls from them). Letter also included some forms to fill out to change the account over, we fill them all out with the new account details and mail them back to Vodafone.

- Next months bill arrives, still in the old name.

- Next months bill arrives, still in the old name.

Well done Vodafone, with your inability to complete a pretty simple request in 6 months you have managed to annoy a longtime customer so much that she is now going to change provider - something she really really didn't want to go through the hassle of doing.

Vodafone TV app: Windows?

Very happy with the VF TV functionality via the 'decoder' box. The sales pitch included the fact that I can also watch it through an app on one of 3 mobile devices, which I understood included laptops. However there is no mention of a Windows app on the website (not that I could find).

Is the app really only available for android and apple devices, and not on Windows? Given this was intended to be used on the home media PC, I hope this is simply me not being able to find the app!

Vodafone Smart N8 - false trigger on liquid contact indicator?

Hi Team

We purchased two Vodafone Smart N8 mobile phones from The Warehouse just before Christmas as gifts. The phones went into wallet style cases almost immediately when unboxed and have been well looked after.

One of them stopped charging recently, and my Mrs took it into The Warehouse to have it repaired or replaced under warranty. Because it was under $150, I anticipated replacement as surely 3rd party repair would be uneconomic at this price point ($130). I'm advised the bloke at the electronics counter took the phone out the back 'for ages' and then came back and showed the LSI (Liquid Contact Indicator) sticker was red, and advised on this basis a warranty claim would be denied.

After quizzing Kid #3 who is a bs-free-zone, we are highly confident the phone has not been wet.

We checked Kid #1's N8, which continues to work perfectly and has been kept in the same wallet style case. It's LCI is also red, but Kid #1 insists her phone has also never been wet.

Help requested.

Can other N8 owners please check their LCI stickers and advise the colour, and the age of the phone? If red, please advise whether you think this is accurate or possibly a false positive? Photo attached showing the LCI 'hole' just above the USB port under the back cover. On our two, the red is very strong and obvious in the hole.

I'm seriously considering paying a $60 inspection fee to have the phone examined, as I am highly confident no other evidence of water damage will be found. My only hesitation is that despite no other evidence of water damage being found, the claim may still be denied so it's half the price of a replacement down the toilet.

CheersMike

Is Vodafone tower working normally?

I am having major problems with RBI that just started recently and my ISP isn't being helpful. Can anyone from Vodafone confirm that the mast at Henderson Road in Flaxmere is operating normally? I need to eliminate that as a possible source of my issues. I can't find anything relating to it on the VF site, but would like confirmation if possible that nothing has changed there.

Pegasus township

I am considering a move to Pegasus township and am getting differing answers regarding internet access.

I understand that Vodafone were given exclusive rights to provide telecommunications to the new town about 10 years ago.

Slow internet access and poor service were detailed in a letter by the local MP to the minister of Communications a few years ago.

Sitting in the car park under the cell tower yesterday I got between 1 and 5 Mbps and the local real estate office are showing 11-15Mbps apparently with direct connect to the router. ADSL speeds. Current VDSL in Rangiora is 70Mbps which has risen from 45Mbps since fibre is now available and I assume neighbors are connecting.

With the development of a huge new township with 2kms of Pegasus (Ravenswood) there has to be changes in the air.

If any GZ's live in Pegasus and can throw light on the current situation...it would be appreciated..

And if VF are reading this forum, any updates would also be much appreciated..

thanks

VDSL not authenticating - Silverdale

Customer has had no internet (VDSL) for 3 days in Silverdale .. CSR says it should all be ok now .. DSL layer is up but it is not authenticating.

Can someone assist here by looking at RADIUS logs to see what is still amiss?

The router is a Draytek 2760, settings have not changed, and have just checked the settings which all look ok to me. Yes the customer has power cycled the router, and yes we have clicked on the Dial-PPPoE button.

Hoping someone can assist here?

Vodafone and power outages in auckland

Hey guys,

i admit, I'm poking with this - I'm totally able to provide network updates from my end, but Vodafones i can only speculate.

So, Waitakere is an area that's been hit pretty hard, Still power is out in the township for the most part.

soon as things went down and low, we had a generator onsite powering the tower and exchange - no problem there.

The interesting part is...

Exchange is running on Generator

2Degrees gear is running on Generator

Spark gear is running on Generator.

Vodafone gear is still unresponsive.

Community members are rifle at this stage, met with logging faults being told very little.

What I'm suspecting is it's iver a sar card/reset required rather than Vodafone simply aren't on the generator power...

Vodafone - Blocking numbers

We need to block some numbers calling a specific Vodafone mobile number, Vodafone(Digital Mobile) have advised they cant do this?

Is this really the case? Our other option is blocking on the handset, but in doing this before the call does not ring but still allows the caller to leave a voicemail which we don't want.

Cheers

Commerce Commission lays charges on Voda for FibreX

Just received (link not yet on Commerce Commission website):

Commission lays charges against Vodafone for its FibreX broadband advertisingThe Commerce Commission has laid 27 charges under the Fair Trading Act against Vodafone New Zealand Limited (Vodafone) for engaging in false and misleading conduct in relation to its FibreX broadband service. The charges were filed in the Auckland District Court and relate to conduct in the three regions where FibreX is offered (Wellington, Christchurch and Kapiti), between 26 October 2016 and 28 March 2018.The Commission alleges that by naming its broadband service 'FibreX', along with its advertising of FibreX on billboards, radio, in-store, online and in direct-marketing, Vodafone misled consumers into thinking that FibreX was a full fibre-optic broadband service (like those services delivered over the Government-subsidised Ultra-Fast Broadband network), when it is not.The Commission also alleges that Vodafone's website misled consumers about the options of broadband services (including full fibre-optic broadband) available at their addresses. As this case is before the Court, the Commission cannot comment further at this time. This matter will be called in the Auckland District Court for the first time on 22 May 2018.BackgroundFibreX is a broadband service delivered over Vodafone's hybrid fibre-coaxial (HFC) network. The HFC network uses both fibre-optic and copper cabling to deliver broadband to consumers' homes.By comparison, full fibre-optic broadband services are delivered over the Government-subsidised Ultra-Fast Broadband network which only uses fibre-optic cabling to deliver broadband to consumers' homes

HG659 Forgets Port Forward rules every few days

Hi all,

Having problems with a Voda supplied HG659 on a newly provisioned Fibre circuit (business)

We have 3 port forward rules set which seem to get forgotten by the router periodically causing problems primarily for our CCTV monitoring.

The process I use to create the rules is by logging in as Admin on the router, then find the Lan device by Mac address and assigning the port forward rule to it. It does work for a few days but then seems to forget it.

Is there some kind of config that is being pushed to the router by voda perhaps which is overwriting the config on the modem? Or something more benign such as me just not knowing how to create a port forward properly?

Thanks in advance,

I don’t know why I’m still with Voda!

I keep getting terrible mobile customer support.

I'm half way through my 24mth red+ plan and i have seen that on the website the plan has basically been doubled (now woth 30gb and redshare included) all i want to do is get my plan matched to what is being offered.

Voda are very happy to help 24/7 when it means they get your money, but if you have issues or questions, the make it super difficut! I keep getting fobbed off to different departments and then get hung up on.

PLEASE! Someone contact me and help me out!

Sure Signal review

I live in a small North island rural township, which is fortuitously has good internet, but unfortunately variable cellular signal from usable to none both with Spark and Vodafone, depending on weather. My VDSL2 connection with Inspire gives around 55/24 according to speedtest.net.

I run a home business and mainly use my 2talk for calling, but still needed to be able to reliably receive texts and calls to my mobile and make some calls, commonly to cellular numbers, which are cheaper from my mobile.

I bought a Vodafone Sure Signal and plugged it in. After a couple of hours and some confusing error light statuses decided to leave it overnight and call up Vodafone the next day. Sometime after I went to bed, it decided to start working.

What can I say about the service?

It works. The device does what it's supposed to do. The only thing is it's a blackbox which is totally useless geek wise. It doesn't even have a web status page.

But it has made a tangible difference to my calls and texts.

Landline base station time resetting after receiving voicemail

$

My parents are on Vodafone VDSL, and Vodafone has recently moved them to "calling over broadband". Since they previously had a couple of wired phones plugged into different jackpoints, Vodafone sent them a dual cordless phone - a Panasonic KX-TG2722. They're experiencing a problem where every time they receive a voicemail, the time and date on the phone base station are reset (I think to Jan 1).

From a quick google, it sounds as if Vodafone is sending the wrong time information with CallerID, and the Panasonic phone is set to update its time based on that. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a menu option on this model of Panasonic phone to change the Time Adjust setting from Auto to Manual. My parents haven't had any luck with Vodafone support, and they do seem to need to know the date and time their messages have arrived.

Has anyone else encountered this problem, and if so, have you found a solution?

Vodafone. Samsung or Huawei, nothing else.

As a Vodafone customer looking to replace a phone, just a short rant about Vodafone's woeful offerings for quality android handsets. In the past they used to offer a wide selection, but today have narrowed their selection down to just two options: Samsung or Huawei.

So no luck if you are a Vodafone customer interested in any of the following top brands:

LG

Sony

Nokia

Motorola

HTC

Pixel.

Ultra Hub - userid and password

I recently got my Ultra Hub from Vodafone. In preparation for fibre in another 18 months... still on ADSL here.

The installation and setup was fine, and I didn't change my userid or password as it managed to pick these up from the previous install (don't ask me know!).

The userid and password are something I setup when I installed my first Vodafone router all those years ago.

Anyway, everything is still working, I disabled the WiFi and made a couple of minor tweaks and plugged in the Google WiFi devices. My network and internet access are all there, working fine.

But I managed to get into an argument with the password saver software and now I can't sign-on to be router!

I know its one of a couple of userid & password combinations but I can't remember which ones.

Anyone else have a similar problem? How to you resolve it??

I'm reluctant to phone Vodafone and then spend twenty minutes on hold or being passed around the office between their staff and having to repeat my enquiry to each new person.

Vodafone ADSL - after uploading a file, we're unable to download anything for up to 15 minutes

I've had an ongoing problem for months and months with our Vodafone broadband connection

Every time we upload a file (ie: when I take a photo and my phone uploads it to google photos, or if my wife is uploading photos to a greeting card making website) , after the file is uploaded our internet connection stops working for 5 to 15 minutes

We're on an ASDL connection, which is the fastest line available at our location (we live at the edge of a small town)

I had a support ticket about this 4 or 5 months ago, they performed a 24 hour monitoring test and told me...

Upon investigation we could find no fault over the network. There is no data loss or delay that we could find as well

I've noticed that your upload speed has been maxed out. Once there's a high usage of the upload speed, it will affect the stability of your download speed, that will result to disconnections

For the meantime, you can try to do a factory reset on the modem by pressing the reset button/tiny hole at the back for 30 mins (you can use a pin) to refresh the modem, and moving forward, kindly balance the usage of your upload speed as sometimes it would take time for the connection to be back on track.

So their advice is to "balance the usage of your upload speed", but I have no idea how I can do this. We aren't doing anything out of the ordinary with our uploading, it's really mainly google photos and sending photos and videos via whatsapp etc

Does anyone else's internet connection work like this? If there's nothing that Vodafone can do, I'm going to have to switch to another provider. Our internet cutting our every time we upload a file is massively annoying
