HI all,I'm posting this here on behalf of a client who has an ongoing throughput issue on Vodafone ADSL (well over a year now, possibly a lot longer and has also had 3 different modems in that time). They have been trying to resolve it on and off and have basically been going around in circles and are getting a bit fed up with it so I thought I'd post here and see what your thoughts are. They are in a rural location, however I don't believe they are on a cabinet, I think it's an exchange (NGI). Assuming that is correct, they would be right on the edge of VDSL coverage (around 1.4km + a 200m driveway). I was keen to try an upgrade to VDSL to try and sort this issue out even if there wasn't any speed increase but that's not happened. We could definitely try that if you reckon it's the easiest option. Basically they sync at around 19Mbps down, stats are all normal as far as I can see (I don't have a screenshot of the stats to post here sorry but I can get this if necessary) but they only get 7Mbps actual download throughput. Upload is normal at around 1Mbps. This has been tested with 3x different modems, multiple different computers, and wired and wireless clients. I've connected just one computer, disconnected everything else and confirmed the Ethernet link is up at Gigabit, same thing. In short I'm 99.9% sure it's nothing onsite causing this. They do have a master splitter installed. I seem to remember some years ago seeing a similar thing, and it was something to do with that particular port being put on a long distance profile?Unfortunately Vodafone's support has not been great in this case, although I do understand that it's a bit of an odd issue. There has still be a lot of 'we'll look into this and call you back on xxx' and no call back. Any thoughts appreciated! Would love to get to the bottom of this.
