Vodafone FibreX - I need to reboot Technicolor modem weekly - any suggestions?

I've had FibreX for about three months. I'm using Vodafone's Technicolor modem and a Linksys E8500 wireless router. The VLAN is set to '10' and tagged. Connection speeds here in Hataitai, Wellington, are very good.

After initial stability problems in August (internet not being available, periodically) it seems to have settled down - apart from one annoying and recurring glitch. Although the hardwired connections are fine, the wifi connections get flaky after about a week and I need to reset the modem weekly to restore reliable wifi service.

I don't want to go to Vodafone because they'll give me the 'use our router' rigmarole. But I'm wondering if this suggests a problem with the local node?

P.S. I posted this as a new thread rather than adding to the other FibreX threads, because this seems to be a quite a unique issue, compared to what others have written about. This specific topic might help others with similar, specific,issues.
