Hi All I'm really hitting my head against a brick wall here. I believe I have done everything I can to solve this problem but cannot due to it not being a problem in my property. Each time I call vodafone I end up starting again with them saying its a fault with my place/setup. and ending up with them saying its not their problem/they cannot do anything about it its a corus faultOur situation - We are in a rural area ~1.3km from the cabinet that I believe is only ADSL1 enabled (we only get adsl 1) but I believe it is fibre connected - there is fibre cables going to/past the cabinet - and has been for at least the last few years. There is also now a fibre cabinet right next to it for the fibre subdivision that has gone in next door to us. So in theory you would think there would not be a problem with bandwidth leaving the cabinet but is seems there is.We have naked dsl (now - we use to have standard dsl with phone line we never used) there no phones, no faxes no alarms connected to the phone line at all and only 1 phone jack point.I dont have the figures on me (can post them later if required) but our attenuation rates and SNR are very good/ very much at the good end of what would be expected for 1.3km from cabinet.Connection speeds negotiated are always Downstream 7.6Mbit+ and upstream 0.7Mbit+.The connection is not a bad now as it was a few months ago we can now get good speeds and latency usually from about 3am-8am as opposed to having problems 24/7. In the evenings we are lucky to get 0.5-1Mbit and 300-400ms latancy when testing to a chch server. The reason I think the issue is localised to our cabinet and not further upstream is when we had the big 5 day power cut starting at ~8pm on Tuesday when this happened I had some big downloads queued and running and before the power cut I was getting a combined speed of 16KB/sec all our gear is on ups's and we also have large deep cycle batteries capable of running it for more then 12 hours so did not lose power. Within 10 minutes of the power cut the SAME downloads were getting a combined speed of 750KB/sec this continued until the cabinet or upstream exchange wend town around 4amLater in the week still with no power but with a generator and batteries and a generator now hooked to the cabinet these same speeds were still achievable anytime day or night. This included when power had been restored to many surrounding areas - but not the road that out cabinet servesI know I need to post more info/full story(I do have alot more info/testing) but I have run out of time at the moment so will need to update post later.
