Hey guys,Staying with my Dad who is wanting help setting up his new smartphone. Went to enter his Google account (his main email too) and can't login. It says it has sent a verification SMS but never get this. I did get one SMS last night to login on a laptop but since then nothing. I tried to use the Microsoft 2 factor authentication and got a message straight away.The phone is a Samsung J5. The phone is on Vodafone but is on the old Telstra network. Things like texting "bal" to 777 don't work. I rang Vodafone and at first they said the number I was calling from was not on Vodafone even though I told them the phone reports "Vodafone NZ" as the network name. I then told them it may be under Telstra and they were able to use another system and find it. They stated they have no incoming messages from Google including last night when it did come through.The number is ported from 2degrees. Any suggestions or best to perhaps port it back?He has the backup codes printed but there is no option to use this for verification purposes. We have tried the Google recovery form but it mentions 3-5 days and I will already be gone by then :(
