VDSL DLM Re-sync. Improved Download but ping has doubled.

Hi AllThe other night my cat knocked over my modem and and caused a reset. Internet was down for a matter of minutes. Now a day later DLM appears to have re-synced and my downloads have improved but my ping has doubled. I was getting 22Mbps and 16 ping now I get 25Mbps 36 ping. Uploads stay at 9Mbps. It is my first re-sync in months that I know of and I fear my ping will stay high. I am a online gamer so ping is Important.I called Vodafone (Only had to wait 10 minutes this time!) and explained to them what my situation was. I told them I had tried pinging the BF4 servers and a couple of speed test sites. Before the re-sync my ping never went over 16ms, it now sits at 36ms. First the Vodafone rep said that he performed speed tests using his fiber connection to the sites I used and he got similar results to me. He said that the servers I'm pinging must be causing the high ping. I have performed speed tests every day for months (sad I know) and get the same results, now hours after what appears to be a re-sync my results change, and say its the servers. Vodafone could not tell me if my DLM had changed anything on my line.I guess my question is, is it normal for DLM to make a change after one disconnect or was that just a coincidence and is it normal to improve download speeds but double the ping? Or is it really just issues on the servers end? Also, and most importantly, will my ping stay this way until DLM deems it necessary to change it? I understand DLM favours download speeds over ping, so I am stuck with the higher ping?DSL synchronization status:
